“Here I am sending you a report from Taruka Microfinance in Nuwakot District. Life is not so easy as it seems there, People have to walk for hours and hours even to take just a bucket to full of
water. No transportation facilities in monsoon, few health posts, high cost of food grains because the shopkeepers import the materials from Galchhi Bazar which is nearly two hours far from the
Most of the rules assigned by society are not equal for men & women. In Taruka also women are used to work in the farms and to be the housewife only because of the lack of money and opportunities also.
But now with the help of Ketaaketi Germany women in Taruka are able to establish their SMALL cottage industries, cow sheds, chicken farming, goat rearing and so on. They are working very hard to be independent which is the motive of the microfinance. One women named Mangali from Taruka Microfinance group talked about the changes that have occurred fur to the microfinance supported by Ketaaketi. As per her, before she was completely dependent on her husband for the small amount of family for nourishment. But now she says that she is capable of sending her children to the school which is also supported by KETAAKETI. She is rearing the goat. Also she is able to pay now to her children like for the stationary, lunch and others. And not only this, she is also helping her husband economically
This was just a example of a single women. Many women are up to this and are financially supported with a lot of improvement in their family concern.“
