Based on our development model “world family

Based on our development model "World family"

"Sharity" (A.-S. Raecker) instead of charity

Sharing as the norm, instead of the model of donor and recipient. Rich and poor, hand in hand - worldwide. Acknowledging that we can all learn from each other.

Respecting the poor

Respecting the life skills, resources, social and cultural identities of the poorest countries instead of imposing rich countries’ ideas about how development works.

National initiative from the very beginning

We support the formation of national NGOs, whose leaders work for their country with commitment, free of charge and in partnership with KETAAKETI in a completely self-determined way.

The NGO leaders and all staff members are exclusively from the respective country.

This leads to a high level of motivation and personal contribution from all staff members and the people involved in the projects. Much is created from little and offers realistic chances for a better future, through their own initiative.

Reliable partnership

KETAAKETI and its NGO partners work in close cooperation based on mutual respect and equality, in the everyday life as well as in times of crisis (natural disasters, political unrest, epidemics).

Small contributions - big impact

Small start-up support (€1 to €5 per child/school month, €100 start-up capital for new projects) enables many local  initiatives for school attendance, business startups for the pupils' families and self-determined passing on of micro-financing - family by family, village by village. This generates pride and ensures independence from further support from outside.

100% of your donation goes to the projects

All active KETAAKETI staff members are volunteers and finance any outgoings themselves (occasionally, with the help of designated sponsors). Regular contact with the partner country (talks, photos, videos, school meetings, travel) and transparency in all financial matters and communications enables the proper and successful use of all donations without corruption.

Sustainability

The three main core principles of KETAAKETI - microfinance for:

  • the families of schoolchildren as a foundation for primary education and child health support,
  • enabling an organic development towards increasing independence,
  • the individual pursuit of life based on the social and ecological resources in their home country.

KETAAKETI - Future Plan

Expansion of the network of the country’s own NGOs by enabling their leaders in the poorest countries to provide mutual support and advice to each other, sharing knowledge and best practice within their country as well across borders (e.g. as an "intra-African network"). At the same time, we look to expand KETAAKETI’s partner network.

KETAAKETI’s vision is to promote a voice for the poorest countries in the richest countries, so that they are given respect and treated with equality.
